about

Hope you enjoy this full version of “Sweet Hour of Prayer”. Its first verse was written in the mid 1800’s in Coleshill, England, and inspired a new verse two and three in Crieff, Scotland in 2013 :) We had opened the album "Made For You" with the first two verses of it (studio version) and closed the album with the final verse (live version) but Dan Bos, our producer, kindly did a new edit of opening track including the verse we’d omitted (thanks, Dan!). Hope it reminds you of God’s presence in and call on your life.

lyrics

Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer
That calls me from a world of care
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all desires and burden known

In seasons of distress and grief
My soul has often found relief
Come, know the peace and comfort there
And rest in this sweet hour of prayer

Oh I need You
Oh I need You
Ev’ry hour I need You

Oh I need You
Lord, I need You
Oh bless me as I come

Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer
Though times we have no words to share
Just anxious thoughts and deep distress
The pain of all this brokenness

Our wordless groans and outstretched hands
The Spirit knows and understands
You faithfully our burdens bear
God, You’re moving in this sweet hour of prayer

Oh I need You
Lord, I need You
Oh bless me as I come

Sweet hour of prayer, sweet hour of prayer
Each other’s burdens we’re called to bear
To guide the lost God came to seek
To help the broken, the poor and weak

Let justice flow like rivers down
Your name throughout the earth resound
Oh stir us up, our hearts prepare
For lives of service and lives of prayer

Oh we need You
Oh we need You
Ev’ry hour we need You

Oh we need You
Lord, we need You
Oh let Your kingdom come

Oh we need You
Oh we need You
Ev’ry hour we need You

Oh we need You
Lord, we need You
Oh let Your kingdom come

Oh let Your kingdom come
